Loughborough University is committed to encouraging entrepreneurship and nurturing high-growth business. It has a proven track record in commercialising research through licensing and the formation of companies. Loughborough Innovation Centre, one of the region's largest high tech incubators is situated on the University campus, just 1 mile from junction 23 of the M1. The Centre provides comprehensive advice, mentoring and support to both tenants and local businesses in the crucial early stages of growth.
Recently recognised as a Best Practice Incubator (UKBI), the Centre also won the UKBI Best Newcomer Award in recognition of its success in helping new business grow.
Facilities
Office space ranges from 400sqft to 2000sqft. A number of offices have additional workspace ranging in size from 600sqft to 5000sqft. Desk space is also available for pre-start ups on a rent-a-desk basis. Onsite incubation services:
- Mentoring
- Legal, contractual and intellectual property advice
- Assistance with applying for start-up and development funds
- Business planning support, networking, training, mediation
- Receptionist services
- Access to university technical know how, testing facilities and research expertise
Tenants of Loughborough Innovation Centre are proactively welcomed into the region's thriving business community through the support networks of Loughborough Enterprise Club (LEC), Leading Advanced Technology & Innovation (LATI) and Loughborough University.
Prospective tenants
Tenancies are flexible, with one month's notice either side, at £13 per ft² in the first year, then rising by £2.50 a year.
