An evening for those involved in the performing arts in Derby and the East Midlands.

Derby’s networking organisation for the creative industries, CIN, is hosting a social evening on Thursday 8th May at Derby Dance (Déda) for anyone involved in the performing arts business.

The evening will feature a discussion about putting on a live performance with Derby Dance’s director Stephen Munn and Jim Ennis of Earthfall, the Cardiff-based dance and physical theatre group. Earthfall’s show Gravitas is showing on the night with tickets available at half price to those attending the social evening.

The evening starts at 6pm and is open to actors, dancers, theatre companies, touring companies, agents, festival organisers, musicians and other creatives in the region. Derby Dance is on Chapel Street, Derby DE1 3GU.

Working with Déda, CIN’s aim is to provide a relaxed environment for anyone involved in the performing arts to come and meet one another, discuss collaborations, and learn more about how things really work behind the scenes. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Ticket prices for CIN members are £5 (£7.50 non-members). Attendees can stay to watch Gravitas at 8pm for an extra £5 (half price). Places must be reserved in advance. Please contact CIN on 01332 258383 or emma@creative-cin.co.uk

About Derby Dance
Derby Dance is the only dedicated dance house in the East Midlands, housing a 134 seat theatre, two dance studios, meeting room and conferencing facilities, plus the CUBE café/bar and performance space. We offer a weekly class curriculum and a year-round professional performance programme, alongside an extensive programme of dance development and learning.

About Earthfall and Gravitas
Combining live music, film and ironic humour with choreography that is as poetic as it is perilous, Gravitas sees Earthfall at their most profound and cutting-edge. The multi-award-winning company explores the phenomenon of imprisonment without charge and the censorship of words, resistance and action in this new production.
