The region-wide innovation Festival (iFestival) takes place between 7th March and 18th April 2008. 

Building on the success of 2007, the iFestival will encompass an inspiring programme of events, designed to help foster a culture of innovation in the region, with activity targeted at young people, businesses, communities and organisations supporting or involved within an innovation environment.
 
Innovation is regarded as a key driver for creating a dynamic, knowledge focused East Midlands’ economy. Improved productivity in an increasingly competitive global market means that businesses and organisations in the East Midlands must put innovation at the heart of their core activities, if they are to flourish and stay ahead of the game.

With a short time to go to the start of the largest celebration of innovation the region has seen, some of the planned events for the early days of the festival include:

• Environmental Awareness Workshop, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, 7th March
• Fast and Furious B2B Event, Mallory Park Race Circuit, 11th March
• Inspiring Others is an Effective way to Grow the Business, Nottingham, 18th March
