EMIN News - High Drama at the 2008 Lincolnshire Echo Business Awards

A young Sparkhouse company had a dramatic win at the 2008 Lincolnshire Echo Business Awards.

Jennifer Birch’s business, Lincoln Academy of Dramatic Art (LADA), won the award for the Most Promising Young Business, at the glittering ceremony which this year attracted more than 500 people to the Engine Shed at the University of Lincoln.

Former professional actress Jennifer launched LADA in 2005 to offer training to, and manage actors. The company offers training in education to schools and colleges and has expanded to include corporate training and development through performance and workshops.

“We moved into Sparkhouse a year ago and it’s been fantastic. Our business has really grown over the last year. We’ve received support and mentoring and it has given us a more professional setting in which to meet our clients,” said Jennifer.

LADA has achieved success in placing a number of students in professional TV, film and stage and has a 100 per cent success rate in terms of students passing their LAMDA exams.
