The UK leg of the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) has launched a competition which is open to anybody with an idea which utilises satellite navigation technology, be it for position, time, navigation or any other application, including iPhone, iPad and Android apps.
The international European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) ideas database welcomes registration and submission of business ideas and applications from 1st April until 30th June, 2012. During these 3 months, the database will allow you to enter, edit and submit details for your location based product or service. If you choose to enter, all sections of the application process must be completed by the end of June 2012.
It is recommended that the entry form is completed in stages, as you gather and build upon the information for a range of different aspects of your proposed business. You must then select an appropriate prize, with the option of an additional special topic prize, for your submission to be assessed by an appropriate panel of judges.
Last year’s competition was yet again a great success.
Claiming first place in the UK leg of the competition was InstantVue, a Nottingham based company whose Accident Assessor App was recognised for its innovation. InstantVue landed a prize fund in excess of £10,000 comprising: £5,000 in cash, £5,000 of business incubation support and office space, free UK patent advice, three years membership of the Royal Insitute of Navigation and introductions to industry partners and funding opportunities. Their win will help support the development of their prototype into a fully marketable product.
